Athletes from all over Spain will run a new KM Vertical Puig Campana on March 23
Climbing to the top of Puig Campana is beginning to be a tradition for athletes who love trail running. Next Sunday, March 23, there is a new appointment and it is already the 16th. The deadline to register is until this Sunday on the www.mychip.es website. It is expected that more than a hundred runners, from all over Spain, will reach the top of the second highest massif in the province of Alicante, with 1040 meters of elevation gain and 13.7 km. Three categories will participate: Absolute, Junior, Youth and Cadet.
In this 16th edition, the Regional Championship of the Federation of Sports of Muntanya and Climbing of the Valencian Community will also be held. The participants will start in a neutralized way from the Font del Molí and will start the time trial to cover the most vertical kilometer of the province. The finish line will be at the top of Puig Campana. The descent will be made along the botanical path of the Umbria del Puig Campana to the Coll de Pouet, along the path of the Camí de la Serra to the Font del Molí, and from there to the Plaça de la Unió Europea, the point where the race began.
Great figures of the Trail have already confirmed their participation such as Ángel López Amor, Laurence Rastell, Pau Moreno Badenes, Aritz Unamuno, Carlos García Hurtado, Hannan et Taba, the local runner, Vicente Llorca Climent "Tato" and the blind runner already a regular in this event, Lidia Aguilar. At the moment, a hundred athletes have registered from communities as diverse as the Basque Country, Catalonia, Murcia, Castilla y León, Andalusia and the Valencian Community
