Colourful lanterns once again decorate the streets of Finestrat's old town

Carrer Nou is once again adorned with more than fifty coloured lanterns crocheted by the women of the Associació de Dones de Finestrat. The longest thoroughfare in the old town is dressed in stiling shades such as green, red, yellow, orange or blue, creating a spring.like ande cheergul atmosphere. This is the third year that they have been placed, gven the good reception they had in the first edition. These decorative motifs enjance the picturesque atmosphere that characterises the old part of the town, which is dotted with houses painted in pastel shades.

Lanterns were put up for the first time to celebrate Women's Day. The street was so original and so well recived, that in this, its third edition, it si already an established tradition. These ornamental details are maintained practically until winter, when the women of the municipality meet again to make the new ones.
