'Discover the moon' is the experience that will be lived this Saturday at the Foia football field
Would you like to discover the moon? You are in luck because this Saturday 12, at the Foia de Finestrat Football Field, around 7:30 p.m., you will be able to live this powerful experience and look out at a giant telescope with which to observe with your own eyes the surface of the beautiful satellite of the Earth, which is about 384,000 kilometers away and has a diameter of more than 3400 km, being the fifth largest in the entire solar system.
If this is the first time you participate in an experience of these characteristics, it is possible that the craters that are all over the lunar surface will catch your attention. Seeing them is a real spectacle, as are their mountains and mountain ranges, some of them very high, reaching 5000 meters. And since the telescope is large, you may also be able to see riverbeds, which have never carried water on their surface, as they are lava beds. No object in the universe that is observed offers so much quality and quantity of detail, regardless of the size of the reflector.
In principle, the time at which this activity takes place may be surprising, 7:30 p.m., because it is expected to be at night; But the reality is that the ideal time to observe this satellite is in the time slot when it begins to get dark and the day is saying goodbye. It is also better to see it in the waxing and waning phases, although, in principle, you might think that it is when it is full. For more information, joventut@finestrat.org and WhatsApp 606 936 432.
