Finestrat is decked out in medieval attire to celebrate this weekend the Gastronomic and Traditional Market
The streets of the old town of Finestrat are being decorated with medieval motifs to host this weekend, 6 and 7 April, the XIII edition of the Gastronomic and Traditional Market. You will be able to visit more than 60 craft stalls, where you can enjoy representations of ancient trades, recipes for traditional dishes, musical performances and a complete children's entertainment programme. It is expected that hundreds of people will come during these days to visit one of the most celebrated and awaited events of all those held in this municipality of the Marina Baixa. To avoid parking problems, the City Council has set up a car park in the La Foia sports area, in the lower part of the municipality, with a free shuttle bus and continuous connection to the historic centre.
This medieval market is a commercial, tourist and leisure alternative for all audiences. In the streets of Fonteta, Nou, Plaça de l'Ajuntament, Castellets and Sant Vicent there are more than 60 stalls selling handicrafts and demonstrations of ancient trades, such as ironwork, clay, esparto, stonemason and silver. In some of these stalls you will be able to taste typical recipes of the area such as rib stew and paella and the Associació de Dones de Finestrat will sell typical products of the municipality such as honey, mistela and coca girà .
