Finestrat attends one more Edition of Fitur, the great tourism fair that is held during these days at the end of January of Madrid. This year, which is the year of sustainability, accessibility and innovation, the  municipality presents in the capital of Spain its two new greenways: the one that connects La Cala with the Boulevard and the one that surrounds the lower part of the municipality, which goes from La Penya, the slope on which, the Hanging House rest, ande the sports area of La Foia. In addition, the Touirist Info of La Cala Finestrat will receive during the celebration of this contest the Q Award, awarded by th Spanish Institue of Tourism Quality (ICTE), in recognition of the effort of the Citu Council for the promotion of certified tourism Quality and Sustainability. This brand brings prestigi and worldwide promotion to the Finestrat destination.

The greenways will not be the only projects that will be shown to visitors and professionals who come to Fitur during these days. The històric centre of the municipality is going to undergo important transformations in the  comming months that will make it more attractive and also more accessible. Proof of this is that the City Council plans to install an elevator from the Plaça de la Unió Europea to El Castell, where the Hermitage and the Amphitheater are located, so that all visitors can access one of the most beautiful environaments of the town, which is located in the upper part. Also presented at Fitur are the Works that are being carried out in La Penya, the rocky slope on which the Hanging Houses are located, one of the hallmarks of Finestrat. These beautification Works will allow it to be iluminated with LED ligts so that at night you can also enjoy this històric complex that draws the silhouette of a large part of the town.

Tourism promotion at Fitur will once again be based on the slogan “Finestrat has it all” and on its routes “Discover Finestrat”, without forgetting the importance of the traditional gastronomy of the sea and mountains that the municipality has, the interesting sports offer, ranging from the practice of golf, through mountain biking, to hiking routes, climbing and internationally renowned  mountain races such as the Finestrat Costa Blanca Trails. A separate chapter deserves the attractive commercial offer it has on the Boulevard de Finestrat and the Markets such as the Gastronòmic i Tradicional, which is held at Easter, and the Christmas Market.
