For another year Finestrat is attending FITUR 2023, the biggest International Tourism Trade Fair in Spain held this week in Madrid. The town is taking part under the umbrella of the Costa Blanca Tourist Board. The fair provides sector professionals and visitors a space for hearing about the town's tourism provision, which in this edition comes with the slogan "It's all here for you", because this town in the Marina Baixa region combines sea, mountain and shopping.

The historic town centre is the star of the 2023 promotion campaign at FITUR. The goal is to give this part of the town a higher tourism profile and increase the number of visits. To do this, the plan is to intensify the provision of traditional markets, outdoor cultural performances in El Castell Amphitheatre and the sporting events held in the area surrounding Puig Campana. This past year there has been an increase in the supply of accommodation in the urban area and in 2023 this trend is expected to continue.

Speaking about this topic, the mayor of Finestrat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, recalled the work done in recent years to attract visits to the historic town centre with events like the Mercat Gastronòmic i Tradicional (Gastronomic and Traditional Market), the Christmas Market and l'Estiu Cultural (Cultural summer events), as well as with sports events in the area surrounding Puig Campana, like the Finestrat Costa Blanca Trails. "These sporting events and craft fairs have allowed us to publicise our historic town centre. Now, what we want is to step up the number of visits. Plus, we're going to start regenerating the streets to improve the town's appearance, accessibility and also to provide more parking spaces" he said.

Completion of La Cala promenade
One of the jewels of Finestrat, in addition to Puig Campana mountain and the historic town centre, is La Cala beach. Once work on channelling the ravine and refurbishing the seafront promenade has been completed, work will begin on finishing the promenade from the end of the ravine to Plaça de l'Àmfora.

At the FITUR 2023 international showcase event, Finestrat's tourism attractions are presented under the slogan "It's all here for you". From the charming historic centre that you can explore following the "Discover Finestrat" route, to the peace and quiet of La Cala beach and the beautiful landscape of Puig Campana mountain and the surrounding countryside. As a destination, Finestrat has a wealth of attractions, including delicious food and drink, shopping tourism (with one of the largest shopping malls in the Region of Valencia) and sports tourism, with golf courses, mountain biking, hiking, climbing and mountain running trails, known internationally as the Finestrat Costa Blanca Trails.
