More than 75 volleyball teams will compete in Finestrat at the III Volabola Tournament
The III Edition of the Volabola Tournament will be held in Finestrat during these days of Holy Week. The kick-off will be on Good Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., and will continue on Saturday, March 30, from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m., when the finals will be played. Without a doubt, this competition is one of the biggest national sporting events in grassroots volleyball. A total of 75 teams, coming from all over Spain, will meet in the municipal pavilion and on the football field, located in the sports area of La Foia, in the town of Finestrat.
The Tournament, in which a total of 700 athletes will participate, is organized by the Finestrat Volleyball Club and the Elche Volleyball Club. It has been hanging the full sign for days. This sporting event is of great importance for the town due to the important tourist promotion that Finestrat is made through sport. The fact that it is celebrated on the dates of the Easter Festivities is a plus, since, on the one hand, it turns the municipality into a showcase when the number of visitors is much higher and, on the other hand, it brings more than 2000 people to it, which will boost the activity of the hospitality industry. restaurants and commerce during Holy Week.
With this third edition, the Volabola Tournament is consolidated and two dates are marked in the calendar in terms of sporting events of great importance in the municipality: This championship at Easter in the urban area and, on August 15, the day on which the oldest Volleyball Championship in Spain is held on the beach of La Cala.
This championship promotes grassroots sport and has, at the same time, a unique social and family dimension, due to the degree of coexistence that is generated among all the participants. VolaBola is a different tournament because the children's and cadet teams play more than 20 hours of games, 16 of them on Good Friday and the other 8 on Saturday. The three best grassroots teams from all over Spain will emerge from this competition.
For this edition of the Tournament, a total of 7 fields will be enabled, 3 volleyball courts in the sports pavilion for the categories of children's men, children's women, women's cadet, and 4 artificial turf fields, in which Grass Volleyball will be played. A well-known modality in the Nordic countries. This tournament, which has a clear family character, will also have a playful dimension with the installation of inflatables, music, giant paella, snack and nighttime coexistence in the pavilion.
