The Motor Museum opens its doors on the Bulevar Comercial shopping mall with a permanent display of classic vehicles
A new museum has just opened in Finestrat. It's the Motor Museum and you can find it on the Bulevar Comercial shopping mall. The museum has more than 3000 square metres of exhibition space dedicated to automotive history with a unique selection of vintage vehicles. Car enthusiasts are in luck because they'll be able to enjoy vehicles of all ages in a large collection that covers from the 1920s through to the present day. There's also a wide-ranging display of famous vehicles from film and television, including the vans driven by the A-Team and featured in Jurassic Park; the DeLorean used in “Back to the Future”; “Herbie”, the VW beetle from the 1960s Disney films and KIT, the car from the "Knight Rider" TV series.
There was a lot of enthusiasm for building a museum of this kind in the Region of Valencia. Now it's a reality in Finestrat. The building is on Carrer Joan Fuster, 4 on the Bulevar Comercial shopping mall. The three-storey building houses a permanent exhibition of more than 60 classic vehicles plus a restoration workshop, where visitors can watch all the work that goes into restoring these old treasures. There's also an area dedicated to highway education and training, a projection room, a children's play area, a souvenir shop and a 1950s-style food truck serving drinks and meals.
Apart from promoting heritage vehicle conservation, the idea behind the museum is to also display a unique selection of classic cars from various eras and brands. This is the case of a limousine gifted to Spain by the United States Government in the middle of the last century as well as one of the five Aston Martin models currently in existence. The exhibition space is set in such a way that the visit becomes a spectacle.
The Motor Museum can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. It's the second museum to open in Finestrat. The first one to open was in the town centre, in Font de Carrè park, housing a permanent archaeology and ethnology exhibition.
