The pleasant autumn temperatures reactivate the desire to hike through Puig Campana
The month of October arrives and with it the desire to hike through Puig Campana returns. The pleasant temperatures of autumn reactivate the desire to walk through one of the most beautiful places in the Valencian Community. The views from the mountain are impressive and, as you ascend, you can see the entire coastline of the province of Alicante, while enjoying typical Mediterranean vegetation. On the south face, Aleppo pine forests and mature holm oak forests dominate. On the northern slope grows a more humid forest, composed of ash maples, strawberry trees, mustajos, lavender, ivy, honeysuckle or sarsaparilla. Not forgetting the two endemic species: the Cystanche phelypaea and the Teucrium lepicephalum.
Puig Campana is a massif of more than 1000 meters of altitude and although it is true that the path is well defined, it is also true that whenever we go out to the mountain we must be well prepared. Some recommendations:
*Bring a route map
*GPS or compass
*Backpack with support equipment and a small first aid kit
*Suitable footwear
*Costumes according to the place and weather conditions
*UV protection glasses, a hat and sunscreen
*Water for the whole day
*Start the route at a reasonable time
*Never be separated from your classmates, or leave anyone behind
If necessary, make the route shorter and even turn around and come back another day.
The Local Police of Finestrat has a drone to carry out rescues and there are agents specialized in the flight of these unmanned aircraft, who if necessary, pass all the information of the hikers to the Rescue Group of the Civil Guard, in order to help the State security forces and bodies.
