The plant chosen for this month of March by the expert in fauna and flora of Puig Campana, Manuel Mayor Rabasa, El Beato, has been rosemary, a plant whose name means "sea spray" and which has multiple applications on a daily basis. It is used for flavoring, curing, cooking or honey. It is very easy to see it in Finestrat and all its surroundings.

My name "rosmarinus" comes from the Latin "ros" and "marinus" which means sea dew; since you can find me near the sea and also in areas far from it.
To ensure pollination I have a very evolved device: the horizontal arrangement of the lower lip of the corolla that acts as an airstrip, perfectly signposted, facilitating the passage of insects to the bottom of the corolla tube where my nectar is stored, soaking its thorax with pollen, since my stamens are curved.

Light-colored honey with exceptional flavor, which stimulates the liver, relieves heartburn and ulcers: "With honey, any cake turns out well" and Bee honey, better new than old."
