Tourist Info is committed to reducing the environmental impact of tourist activity as much as possible
The Tourist Office of La Cala de Finestrat is part of the Quality and Innovation Committee of the Tourist Info Network. Its objectives are to prevent and reduce the negative impact of tourism activity as much as possible. To this end, a committee has been created, which meets periodically, in order to ensure that the management system implemented and the services provided meet the established requirements, while planning, implementing and improving the sustainability plan. The main functions carried out by this office are those related to promotion, the calendar of fairs and advertising campaigns, as well as guided tours, with the purpose of building visitor loyalty. Satisfaction surveys are one of the main instruments used to find out the opinion of tourists who come to this municipality of the Marina Baixa. The first action of this committee will be a talk in the auditorium of the Business Incubator next Friday, October 25, at 4:00 p.m. Prior registration is not required, although you can find more information by calling the Tourism number 648 653 219 (also WhatsApp).
Finestrat is a member of the Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy in the municipality, promoted by the European Commission. In this sense, within the office the maximum daylight is used, the air conditioning equipment is maintained in a sustainable way and periodic monitoring is carried out to ensure efficient operation. In addition, through the information, the use of public transport to travel from the historic centre to La Cala is promoted. It is also committed to the considerable reduction of waste generation, making available to tourists the instruments to facilitate this action. The purpose is to contribute to the development of tourism promotion, especially that which has to do with the promotion of cultural, historical and natural heritage, through interactive screens and virtual reality.
Finestrat's Toruist Info has identified the most relevant stakeholders in order to carry out the objectives set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Department of Tourism works for excellence in the tourism sector through certifications, complies with legal requirements and influences the community with recreational and at the same time solidarity actions. In reference to tourists who visit the office, the information sent to them is always impartial, in several languages, always in accordance with what is advertised, allowing accessibility to the facilities to be universal and being involved at all times with environmental protection and social sustainability. On the other hand, and in an internal sense, we work for a good work environment, attentive to equality criteria and favouring training and family conciliation.
Finestrat's Toruist Info recognises the importance of organisations in contributing to sustainable development. For this reason, it shows a clear commitment to carry out its activities and provide its services in such a way that they generate positive impacts on its social, economic and environmental environment. The municipal Department of Tourism works and focuses its efforts on complying with all the recommendations on gender equality; in industry, innovation and infrastructure; in achieving sustainable communities and cities; in improving climate action and in protecting the life of terrestrial ecosystems.
